ClickHouse and Hud Bring Production Intelligence Into the AI Software Development Lifecycle
The growing use of AI coding agents is changing the challenge facing software engineering teams. Generating code is becoming faster, but determining whether those changes are safe to release requires a deeper understanding of how software behaves under real production conditions.
Hud says AI now generates or assists with 42% of the code developers ship, with that share expected to reach 65% by 2027. As that percentage grows, the companies argue that engineering teams need a way to connect AI-generated changes with the operational reality of the applications they affect.
That is the focus of a new integration between ClickHouse and Hud. The integration connects ClickStack, ClickHouse’s open-source observability stack, with Hud’s Runtime Code Sensor to support workflows spanning code review, deployment, verification, and production troubleshooting.

Connecting the Operational Picture to the Code
The integration combines two different layers of information. ClickStack provides broad visibility across applications and infrastructure, helping teams identify the service, deployment, or endpoint involved in an issue. Hud operates at the code layer, connecting production behavior to the functions and changes responsible for it.
The platforms can be connected by a coding agent through shared trace IDs. This allows an engineering workflow to move from an issue identified in ClickStack directly to the corresponding code-level context in Hud.

The result is intended to make production data useful beyond traditional monitoring and troubleshooting. Engineering teams can use the information to inform decisions about changes before they reach production, as well as investigate those changes afterward.
Runtime Intelligence Before and After Deployment
The Hud+ClickStack integration supports pre-deployment risk assessment, allowing changes to be evaluated against real-time information about how affected code behaves in production. Higher-risk changes can be held for additional review and deeper context, while safer changes can move faster or be automatically merged.
The workflow continues through release verification and production operations. The integration supports automatic reversion upon regression, automated detection and investigation, agentic workflows that can create pull requests for code-level fixes, and rollback and remediation workflows.
That is particularly relevant when a production issue starts with a relatively small change. A query may slow down, a function may behave unexpectedly under a specific workload, or a code path may consume additional resources. Hud is designed to detect these issues at the function level and provide forensic context, while ClickStack supplies the wider operational picture.

Building Around Production Reality
The companies say the integration is designed to give coding agents access to more than static code or isolated alerts. Runtime operational data, function-level context, and application behavior can instead become part of the development workflow.
For engineering teams, that means the same production information can support several stages of the lifecycle: assessing a proposed change, verifying its behavior after deployment, and investigating or fixing problems when they appear.
Teams can get started by installing the Hud SDK and connecting it to their ClickStack service. Hud’s runtime intelligence then flows alongside the OpenTelemetry data teams already collect.
As AI-generated code becomes a larger part of software development, ClickHouse and Hud are positioning runtime behavior as an increasingly important source of engineering context.
